Commissioner Jodeen Carney recently shared her views with CityMag on a proposal put forward by the Adelaide City Council to mandate bystander intervention training for employees in the hospitality industry.

Bystander intervention training raises awareness of inappropriate behaviour and empowers staff to address it.

The proposal builds upon the WE'RE EQUAL initiative and other efforts within the hospitality industry aimed at eliminating bullying, discrimination and harassment amongst workers, contractors and customers.
