On 29 September 2023 the Australian Government tabled the Final Report of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability in the Australian Parliament.

The report contains 222 recommendations covering a wide range of areas, most directed to the Australian Government, and others to state and territory governments and non-government agencies.

Some of the recommendations relate to strengthening to Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act, and enacting an Australian Disability Rights Act.

The final report has been published on the Royal Commission's website.  A brief guide to the Final Report is also available, along with an Easy Read version.

A separate resource on Listening to First Nations people with disability has also been published. It describes what the Royal Commission heard in submissions from First Nations people with disability and their families and communities. An Easy Read version is also available.
